Upon graduating with honors from Georgia
State University with a BA in Communications, "the head shark"
blasted off to NYC to study advanced film production at New York
University. While orbiting NYC, she wrote and directed several
short films and completed 2 screenwriter-for-hire assignments.
She also produced and directed a documentary that was filmed in
Amsterdam and screened in Belgium. Armed with these early
successes and a cool broadcast-quality digital video camera, the
head shark rocketed to Los Angeles to pursue a cinematic career
with an emphasis on writing, producing, and directing features.
Since that time, she's produced, written,
and directed several creative media projects including 'Sex,
Lies & Ravioli' (a Forbesbest.com finalist) and 'Yan Dash!'
(which showcased at Rooftop Films NYC). Meanwhile, her comedy
sketches debuted at the LA Comedy Store’s 'Best of LA Comedy
Showcase' and she launched Planet Shark Productions. In 2005,
one of the first feature films she wrote screened at numerous
film festivals (and two songs for which she penned the lyrics
are featured in the film). Other noteworthy gigs include writing
and producing segments for NBC's 'Hip Hop Nation' and Fox Sports
'Playground Earth,' producing music videos, and working as a
professional lyricist.
The head shark was also selected to judge
the Burst Music/Artist Network Leader Of the Pack A&R Showcase
and featured in a recurring role on TNN'S "The Ultimate Revenge"
(with Ryan Seacrest). In addition, Planet Shark Productions was
an official sponsor of The Moondance Film Festival, Nashville
New Music Conference, and Global Media Summit (among others) and
a TOP 10 National Finalist in the Ladies Who Launch Entrepreneur
of the Year Competition.
Today, the head shark's not only the
fearless ruler of Planet Shark and an accomplished
writer-director-producer, but also a successful marketing and
promotions ninja and social media consultant. She's also a
producer for BAM!
("Being A Man") TV, a popular variety show - and
actively developing a solid roster of feature-length films. In
here spare time (which is increasingly rare!), she volunteers at
local animal rescue organizations and promotes animal rights via
her 'pet project' http://www.speedpetworking.com .
